DRY RAP HELPS PRODUCE GOOD MIX

At Meeker, we are always looking for ways for you our customer to save money. Covering RAP and aggregate piles is a simple yet effective way to save money on your drying costs at your plant. A typical fabric building covers 5000 square feet of ground. If it were to rain 1” of water, you would have 13 tons of water on the 5000 square feet of ground. Imagine if that water never got to the ground or more importantly on your RAP stockpile.

Covering the RAP has never been as important as it is now. With fuel costs on the rise and plants needing to add more RAP to stay competitive, using a fabric building to help reduce your moisture just makes sense.

At Meeker, we are using heavy duty tubular steel trusses because we know loaders and trucks are not the most nimble machines around the yard. The trusses are set on 12’ centers and we can span an area up to 65 feet wide by any length you require. Most of the trusses we supply are set on concrete bases so that if RAP pushes up against anything, it will be the concrete and not the trusses or fabric covering.

The Fabric covers come with a 15 year prorated warranty. The covers are a 12.5 ounce Nova Shield II Fabric Cover, which is the industry’s best. Fabric is available in many colors but the lighter colors tend to allow more light in for the loader operator’s vision.
